Do you have an idea for a business that could generate income for you, your family, and future employees? If so, consider an entry into the 4th annual Piedmont Pitch, a training program and competition that will have another cycle this spring.
“Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Charlottesville and Albemarle have the opportunity to express their interest in Piedmont Pitch by submitting a draft business plan with this application and meeting with a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) advisor,” reads an application for the program, which is sponsored by the offices of economic development in Albemarle and Charlottesville.
The draft business plans are due on March 6 at 11:59 p.m.
Those accepted must also complete a Business Essentials Training course through SBDC in order to move forward. Participants who proceed will attend weekly classes to learn about financials and business planning, understanding customers, pricing, and marketing. Final business plans are due April 10.
Several will be selected to be finalists in the Piedmont Pitch that will take place at the June 3, 2026 Piedmont Ascent Small Business Conference.
