The City of Charlottesville rents out 126 garden plots at four parks and wants to know what the community thinks about the service. They’ve launched a public survey.
“This feedback will help Parks & Recreation evaluate whether the current number of garden plots is meeting community demand and explore ways to improve access and outreach,” reads the instructions.
There are 30 foot by 30 foot lots available at Azalea Park and Meadowcreek Fairgrounds as well as 20 foot by 20 foot lots at Michie Drive and Rives Park. City residents pay a lower price than those who live elsewhere. Charlottesville residents also get the first at applying for rental spaces which are available for use beginning March 1.
While there is no cutoff date listed for the survey, the results will be shared at the March 19 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
