Crozet Mobile Home Community expansion moving forward

The owners of a mobile home park in Crozet has filed a site plan amendment to add more than a dozen new units.

“The proposed project is an expansion of an existing manufactured home park,including the addition of 14 manufactured home units for a total of 87 units,” reads a project description.

The additional units are allowed under the terms of a special use permit adopted by the Board of Supervisors at their meeting on August 16, 2023. The Crozet Mobile Home Community was built in the late 1970’s before a comprehensive rezoning in 1980 that made this use non-conforming.

The new units will be on about 3.2 acres of the existing Crozet Mobile Home Community. Pavement will also be added and there will be additional stormwater management facilities.

According to the site plan, the new units would be built on the southern and northern edges of the site.

According to Albemarle’s Civic Access portal, the site development plan was approved on August 15. (SDP-2025-00077)

Two other land use items in Albemarle County:

• An initial site plan has been approved for 13 units to be build on a portion of a 5.34 acre lot on South Pantops Boulevard zoned Residential-15. On August 19, staff in Albemarle’s Department of Community Development approved a site plan to construct 13 townhomes in a project called River Heights. (SDP-2025-00097)
• An initial site plan has been filed for the Northern Albemarle Convenience Center that will eventually be operated by the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority. Albemarle staff have until October 6 to take action according to the Civic Access portal. (SDP-2025-00108)
