One dead after crash at Rio and Hillsdale

The Albemarle County Police Department has released additional information about a three-vehicle crash on August 8 night at the intersection of Rio Road East and Hillsdale Drive that left one dead.

The deceased is 32-year-old Kenneth Choloski of Earlysville, a passenger in one of the vehicles involved.

“On the scene of the crash, officers found a two-door coupe had collided into two other vehicles in the area of Rio Road East and Hillsdale Drive,” reads an information release sent out today. “Choloski was a passenger in the coupe and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.”

The coupe’s driver was also not wearing a seat belt and was taken to the UVA Medical Center with serious injuries. Two occupants of the one of the other vehicles were also taken to the hospital, but those in the other vehicles were not.
